Our Privacy Philosophy
Our approach to privacy is simple: limit collection, protect customer information, and do not sell personal information. We're in the business of filtering content, not monetizing your viewing habits.
Minimal Collection
We limit collection to the account, usage, device, and service information described in our Privacy Policy.
Security Safeguards
We use encrypted network connections, access controls, limited service credentials, and monitoring.
No Data Selling
SafePlay does not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
Your Control
Account settings include data export and account-deletion controls, subject to required legal retention.
What We Collect (And Why)
Account Information
When you sign up, we collect account information such as your email address, name, authentication details, and service settings. We use this to:
- Let you log in to your account
- Send important service updates
- Respond to support requests
Payment Information
Website subscriptions are processed through Stripe, and iOS subscriptions are processed through Apple. SafePlay does not receive your full payment-card number from those providers.We receive purchase and subscription status needed to provide access and support billing.
Filtering Activity
When you filter a video, we record which video was filtered and when. This allows us to:
- Let you re-watch filtered videos instantly from your library
- Show your filtering history in your dashboard
- Provide usage statistics for your account
Important: SafePlay does not add ordinary YouTube viewing to your SafePlay history. Videos you explicitly filter, request, save, or give feedback on may appear in SafePlay account activity.
What We Don't Do
We don't sell data to advertisers
Our business model is subscriptions, not advertising.
We don't build profiles for targeting
We don't use viewing patterns for ads. Optional SafePlay recommendations are off by default, disclosed clearly, and controlled by you.
We limit what we collect
SafePlay uses video identifiers and service data to provide filtering without adding YouTube media to your SafePlay account.
We limit service-provider access
Service providers may process information only to perform services for SafePlay, such as hosting, authentication, payments, communications, and support.
Family Privacy
Family accounts have additional privacy considerations. Here's how we handle them:
Family Account Privacy
- Household visibility: Adult owners and authorized guardians can see Managed Profile activity made visible by the household settings.
- Profile separation: Managed Profiles do not receive household-management access. Adult profile activity remains private unless that adult chooses to share it or disclosure is required for security or law.
- Adult-owned accounts: A SafePlay household is created and controlled by an adult. Managed Profiles do not require a separate email address or social login.

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No system is completely secure.
