1. Agreement
These Terms govern your use of trysafeplay.com, the SafePlay browser extension, the SafePlay iOS app, and related services (together, “SafePlay”). By creating an account, starting a trial, purchasing a subscription, or using SafePlay, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you use SafePlay for an organization or household, you confirm that you have authority to do so.
2. Eligibility and Accounts
You must be at least 18, or the age of legal majority where you live, to own a SafePlay account or make a purchase. Household accounts are adult-owned. An adult owner may create Managed Profiles and authorize guardians, members, or linked viewing devices. You are responsible for account security, household permissions, and activity performed with your credentials or linked devices.
3. What SafePlay Provides
SafePlay provides tools that mute or bleep selected language during supported YouTube playback. SafePlay may also offer YouTube search, a Filter Library, household approvals, filtering preferences, viewing history, and notifications. Features vary by device, plan, video availability, and service status.
SafePlay is a language-filtering tool, not a content-rating service. It does not review or guarantee a video's images, themes, accuracy, age suitability, or overall appropriateness. Adults remain responsible for choosing content and supervising Managed Profiles.
4. YouTube and Third-Party Services
SafePlay uses YouTube API Services and YouTube embedded players. YouTube owns and controls YouTube content and playback availability. Your use of YouTube features is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. SafePlay is not endorsed by or affiliated with YouTube or Google unless expressly stated.
Videos may become private, restricted, unavailable, region-limited, non-embeddable, or otherwise unsupported. SafePlay may remove an unavailable video from its results or library.
5. Trials, Subscriptions, and Purchases
- The card-free website trial does not automatically convert to a paid subscription.
- Paid features, current prices, included new-video processing, and Filter Library access are shown before purchase. Processing allowances are service limits, not a promise of unlimited new-video preparation.
- Website purchases are processed by our payment provider. iOS purchases are processed by Apple and are also subject to Apple's purchase and refund rules.
- Subscriptions renew until canceled unless the purchase screen states otherwise. Cancel through the same store or billing portal used to purchase. Cancellation stops future renewal and normally leaves access active through the paid period.
- Refund rights vary by purchase channel and applicable law. Apple handles App Store refund requests. For eligible website purchase issues, contact SafePlay support.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse SafePlay. In particular, you may not:
- Use SafePlay in violation of law, these Terms, the YouTube Terms of Service, or another person's rights
- Bypass access controls, subscription limits, household permissions, security measures, or provider restrictions
- Use bots or automated systems to access SafePlay except through an interface we expressly authorize
- Interfere with the service, introduce malicious code, probe for vulnerabilities without permission, or abuse support and notification systems
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute SafePlay without written permission
- Reverse engineer SafePlay except to the limited extent a law gives you a non-waivable right to do so
7. Your Content and Feedback
You keep ownership of information you submit. You give SafePlay the limited rights needed to host, process, and transmit that information to operate and improve the service. If you send suggestions or product feedback, SafePlay may use them without restriction or payment, but will handle personal information under the Privacy Policy.
8. SafePlay Intellectual Property
SafePlay's software, branding, interfaces, documentation, and original content are protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms give you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use SafePlay as intended. They do not transfer ownership of SafePlay or third-party content.
9. Accuracy and Service Availability
Filtering can miss words, mute or bleep the wrong moment, or behave differently because of playback, network, or source changes. SafePlay does not guarantee perfect filtering. If filtered playback cannot be confirmed, Managed Profiles may be prevented from playing the video through SafePlay.
SafePlay may change, suspend, or discontinue features; impose reasonable security or service limits; or perform maintenance. We will provide notice of material changes when reasonably possible or legally required.
10. Suspension and Termination
You may stop using SafePlay or delete your account at any time. We may restrict or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address a Terms violation, fraud, abuse, legal requirement, security risk, nonpayment, or harm to SafePlay or others. Where appropriate, we will provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.
11. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, SafePlay is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Nothing in these Terms limits warranties or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, SafePlay is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunity arising from SafePlay. Our total liability for a claim will not exceed the amount you paid SafePlay during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limits do not apply where prohibited or to liability that cannot legally be limited.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms. We will post the revised version, update the effective date, and provide additional notice when required. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms; if you do not agree, stop using SafePlay and cancel before further renewal.
14. General
Applicable law and mandatory consumer protections govern these Terms. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent; SafePlay may transfer them as part of a merger, financing, reorganization, or sale of the service.
